Designed to enhance our Members’ skills, the 6,500-square-foot Golf Performance Center includes high-tech advancements like 3-D motion capture, Doppler radar launch monitors, gesture recognition systems, four-camera video motion analysis, and an AMM 3-D sensor known as the “MRI of your golf swing.”

  • Instructor Paxton

    Paxton O’Connor

    Paxton has been recognized by Golf Digest as Best Young Teachers in America 2018-19 and 2020-21 and Best Teachers in Every State – Arizona 2019-20. Paxton comes to us from the Butch Harmon School of Golf in Las Vegas, NV. While continuing to develop himself and his ideas, Paxton takes great pride in providing the highest level of coaching to golfers of all levels. He has spent time coaching on PGA & LPGA Tour, Web.com/Korn Ferry tour, and at the collegiate level. Performing golf schools at the Butch Harmon School of Golf he encountered and improved all skill levels. While working towards his PGA Membership, Paxton has worked at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, AZ and The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts which hosted countless major championships including the Ryder cup.

  • Richard Franklin

    Richard Franklin is Desert Mountain’s Head of Junior Golf Development. Richard is a junior golf coach, published game designer, and educator passionate about using golf as a medium to inspire and enrich human lives. As a published game designer and youth golf instructor, he has developed a national following with summer camps that are among the most attended youth golf camps in the United States. Richard is the founder of an exclusive play-based teaching platform and company called DiscoverGolf™, which is currently in use by thousands of junior golfers and integrated within more than 200 facilities worldwide. Richard joins us from Deerpath Golf Course in Lake Forest, IL, where he worked with more than 7,000 junior golfers over the course of his 12-year tenure. Richard brings his vision for student-centric interaction with fun and inspiring game-based methodologies to Desert Mountain families.
